A real fighting rooster, Cocka-Doodle-Lou, was the South Carolina Mascot at Hoover RV Park for the SEC Baseball Tournament in May. He seemed to crow constantly during daylight hours, much to the delight of (at least) the South Carolina Fans. We're not sure how much he helped, but his team DID win the 2004 SEC Championship! |
Cocka-Doodle-Lou's "parents" were also into the school spirit, of course, and tow this restored 1960s-era Volkswagen Convertible to all the games, behind their RV. Notice the flags, and the 6-foot tall Fighting Gamecock in the back seat! |
This view is of the 2005 Championship Game between Mississippi State and Ole Miss (MSU won), showing the beautiful Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, host of the Southeastern Conference Baseball Championship since 1999. This is a capacity crowd of almost 13,000 spectators. The stadium is only about 250 yards from the RV park. |
Another view of the 2005 Championship Game between Mississippi State and Ole Miss (MSU won), showing the beautiful Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, with an SRO (standing room only) crowd. Look closely and you can just make out the Hoover RV park in the background! |
