A Ribbon Cutting was held August 3 at Global Custom Tours in the River Oaks Village Shopping Center on Lorna Road in Hoover (across from Best Buy). Shown cutting the ribbon is Ron Pollini as his partner Sandra Pentony holds the bow. Several staff members, friends, family members, and chamber ambassadors were on hand to share in the excitement, and were treated to dozens of door prizes and great food from Chick-Fil-A.


A Ribbon Cutting was held August 12 at Crabtree Computers at 1401 Montgomery Highway in Vestavia Hills. Shown Cutting the ribbon is owner Patrick Crabtree, as Allison Oddo holds the bow. They are joined by several staff members and chamber ambassadors.

A Ribbon Cutting was held August 24 at La Petite Pre-School on John Hawkins Boulevard/Highway 150 in Hoover. Shown cutting the ribbon is Chrissy Foushee, director of the Highway 150 location, as Regional Manager Sean Hart holds the ribbon. They are joined by other staff members and chamber ambassadors.

September Luncheon

Dr. Lawrence Lemak To Speak

The Birmingham News will sponsor the September 16 Chamber Luncheon this month, and has invited Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Lemak to speak. Dr. Lemak, world renowned orthopaedic surgeon, is a founding partner of Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, one of the nation's leading orthopaedic clinics. He has played an integral role in sports medicine and arthroscopy research as one of the founders and board members of the American Sports Medicine Institute, a research and education center.

15th Annual Golf Tournament Volunteers

Here are just a few of the dozens of volunteers who made the 15th Annual Hoover Chamber Golf Tournament a success, despite the on-again, off-again rain:
Marianne Beard, Christina Arnone, and Haley Montgomery from UAB Medical West; Leah Studdard and Verona Petite from the Hoover Area Chamber; Yvette Weaver for Y Media Works; Kathleen Spencer, chairman, Hyatt Place Hoover; and Woody Woodruff from Merrill Lynch.

15th Annual Golf Tournament Results

The Fifteenth Annual Chamber Golf Classic, held August 30th at Riverchase Country Club was a huge success, in spite of the rain! Even though there were a few that did not show because of the rain, we still had 96 golfers participating, and got started only 90 minutes late. The two-man, best-ball format is still a popular format.
